Snake Traps

Easy removal of snakes from the inside or outside of your home

Using a snake trap is the easiest, safest, and cheapest means of capturing and removing snakes. Snake traps can be used to remove snakes from both indoor and outdoor environments.

The two snake traps recommended here, SnakeGuard Snake Trap and Cahaba, are similar in function. A slim low profile box, open at both ends, with a sticky pad inserted along the bottom. The low profile of the box proves attractive to snakes who tend to habitat in tight, close quarters. Once inside the box, the snake begins to stick to the pad. As it wiggles around trying to escape, it finds itself even more stuck. The traps allow for catch and release. Spraying vegetable oil on the sticky pad surface will release the snake from the pad. Snakes should be released away from the area in which they were caught.

The only difference between Snake Guard and the Cahaba traps is their construction. Snake Guard traps are made from a heavy duty cardboard while the Cahaba traps are made from commercial plastic making them more ideal for outdoor usage. However, they are more expensive. Both will effectively get the job done.

How to use the snake trap

No bait is needed as the sticky pad is scented to attract snakes. Whether inside or outside, the traps should be placed on the floor/ground alongside a wall/fence. Snakes typically travel along walls/perimeters and this is the ideal spot to place a trap. It is really that simple. Place and wait. Make sure to check the traps often.
